Can I make an appointment to be seen at the Clinic?
Yes, after qualifying paperwork is completed. Paperwork must
be obtained from the clinic. We cannot fax, mail or email
applications.
Can I come there because my doctor says I need lab work and
x-rays?
Our volunteer physicians in the
Clinic must order all tests for qualified patients.
Is dental on a first-come, first-served basis?
No, (for some years now)
appointments are made for qualified patients.
What does the Clinic do?
We assist those residents of Pasco County who do not have health
insurance, Medicaid, Medicare or the financial means to obtain
medical/dental care.
Do you take persons with insurance?
No.
How long will it be before I can see a doctor after I have
qualified?
Usually within 1 month.
Sometimes if we have had a cancellation we can schedule you that
day if you have qualified.
Do you accept donated medications that have been opened?
No.
Can I volunteer at the Clinic in order to receive assistance?
We are in desperate need of licensed pharmacists.
Will I be given medications if the doctor prescribes them?
At least 99% of medications ordered by the physicians can be
dispensed to the patient.
Can I pay instead of qualifying?
No.
Can I make an appointment for a qualifying interview?
Applications are available Monday
through Thursday, from 10:00-11:30 am.
Can I make a donation or pay for your doctors to see me?
No.
Why must I go to Department of Children and Families and apply
for Medicaid and Food Stamps before I can apply to the Good Samaritan?
We want to make certain that our
patients do not qualify for Medicaid. All persons applying
must have a letter of denial from Department of Children and
Families. We apply to pharmaceutical companies for free
medications and they require this documentation.
Must I be a resident of Pasco County?
Yes, you must be able to provide proof of residence (Pasco County
drivers license or ID and Voter Registration Card).
How much income is required?
We go by "household" income. Two or more people living under the
same roof, related or unrelated, defines Household. So we would
require proof of income from the entire household (i.e.: last 3 pay
stubs, or last 3 month's bank statements, last year's taxes, to name
a few, from each person living at the household).
