Good Samaritan Health Clinic - AWARD
History
Our Clinic
Community Support and Funding

In a recent report to the Florida Department of Health, Volunteer Healthcare Provider Program we reported 410 total number of licensed healthcare providers volunteering their time for the year ending June 2004.  Additionally, dollar value of services for licensed volunteers as $791,000; total value of donations, which include pharmaceuticals, eyeglasses, labs, x-rays, and hospitals as over $816,000 for a combined total of over $2,000,000.  We also reported that we saw an increase of 40% in total number of patient's visits for 2004.

We have over 60 volunteers who donate their time to the clinic each month.  These include pharmacists, nurses, medical technicians, clerical staff and others who do housekeeping to building maintenance.  Simply put, OUR VOLUNTEERS DO A GREAT JOB!  And those numbers do not include all the physicians, dentists, nurse practitioners who rotate through the clinic each month providing quality care.

Good Samaritan Health Clinic is privileged to have many community partners who include, Community Hospital, New Port Richey Surgery Center, North Bay Hospital, Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point, Trinity Outpatient Center and Radiology Associates who all accept our qualified patients at no cost.  Dr. Marc Yacht, Director of the Pasco County Health Department and his staff are also major contributors of their time and talents to the clinic.  Without these dedicated partners and many others the clinic simply could not exist.

The clinic receives a Community Development Block Grant for medications and laboratory services.  Recently, we applied for and were granted two grants: one for our HepC Clinics and the other from the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation to assist us to provide mammograms to uninsured and underserved women of Pasco County.

The Clinic has two fund raisers a year: Community Hospital has sponsored a Golf Tournament for four years to benefit the Good Samaritan Health Clinic and the other is our annual Tennis Tournament Classic.  This year we celebrate the 13th Annual Best Tennis Weekend in Town sponsored by the Pasco County Medical Society Alliance.

The Pasco County Medical Society continues to be a major supporter of the clinic.  The Medical Society as well as the Medical Society Alliance has received many awards for their contribution and support to this innovative clinic.

The West Pasco Dental Association is also a major contributor to the clinic, providing funds and volunteer dentists to staff the dental clinic on a weekly basis.

United Way of Pasco continues to be "our angel".  This is a partnership we value and consider it a privilege to be a UNITED WAY AGENCY.
